One of the latest masterpieces by the legendary Zaha Hadid, the highly anticipated ME Dubai is already making waves as an architectural marvel and we’ve got the inside scoop

February will see the opening of the region’s first ME by Melia, set to be the social epicentre of Downtown Dubai. The portfolio’s seventh property, Dubai is the latest in a line of iconic cities across the world from Europe to America to call ME by Melia home. So what do you need to know?

Location

Situated in the heart of the Burj Khalifa District, ME Dubai will be located in the beating heart of the city. Aligned with its ethos of being in the thick of the local cultural scene, it will be just a few minutes away from the cultural hub of Dubai Opera as well as some of the city’s biggest attractions. The brand always aims to be in the most fashionable parts of the cities it calls home, and Dubai is no different. ME Dubai will act as a platform for contemporary Middle Eastern culture, bringing together music, art, design, fashion and gastronomy in unique experiences that celebrate the latest trends, events and scene leaders shaping the local cultural landscape.

Social epicentres

ME by Melia prides itself on being a social epicentre. From music to fashion, culture to gastronomy, ME Dubai will be no different. The spacious pool and wet deck overlooking the Dubai skyline, as well as a 7,000sq² state-of-the-art gym, and luxurious spa, will provide you with the best places to indulge in the perfect ‘ME time’, while the largest nightclub space in Dubai will provide a sophisticated setting to see and be seen in Dubai not to be missed.

Five things you need to know about the new Melia Dubai

Dine

Gastronomy fans will be spoilt for choice across the property’s 15 outlets. Meticulously bringing the very best local ingredients, chefs and mixologists, ME Dubai will offer guests a range of delectable cuisines including the first ROKA restaurant in the region, a stylish contemporary Japanese robatayaki concept from London. Located on the third floor overlooking the bustling lobby, Central also showcases the best of Spanish food and drink. Sip on classic beverages, flavourful tapas and enjoy live music with friends and family in this dynamic, vibrant and open restaurant.

Design

The spectacular lobby area of the hotel is the literal epicentre of the building, awesome and inspiring and the heart of all the action. The 5-star Dubai property is the only hotel in the world to be fully designed both inside and out by the late Zaha Hadid, where her style legacy lives on through a range of unparalleled detail and bespoke furniture throughout the hotel. Boasting 74 rooms and 19 suites including the Passion Suite, Personality Suite, the Vibe Room and the legendary ultra-luxurious ‘ME Suite’, the hotel also includes 96 serviced apartments across three floors of expressive Hadid design.

Pet Friendly

Yes, that’s right, in a city usually more geared up to children than pets, this time you don’t have to leave your furry friend behind. Pampered pooches even receive a welcome kit with shampoo, perfume, play ball, mini towel and teeth cleanser. There’s even a menu of fetching doggy food, specially prepared by the hotel’s chefs.
