Le Méridien Maldives Resort & Spa is making its debut at the luxury travel destination on August 1, 2021.

The first offering from the brand in the archipelago, Le Méridien’s new resort will open this summer, and is just a 35-minute seaplane journey from Velana (MLE) International Airport.

The 154-villa resort will invite luxury-seekers to experience the captivating atmosphere of the Maldives with all the familiarities of the beloved European-inspired brand. While the design will embody its mid-century, Parisian design aesthetic, it will also take inspiration from its Maldivian surroundings – from fringing reefs to abundant marine life.

The hotel offers a choice of one and two-bedroom villas for smaller parties, while groups and families can enjoy the Thilamaafushi Villa – a three-bedroom hideaway set in the nook of the island on the beach.

When it comes to dining, six restaurants and bars catering to various cuisines – and featuring local produce – should keep visitors happy, too.

As for the island itself, Thilamaafushi is located in the southeastern pocket of Lhaviyani Atoll and spans over nine hectares of lush greenery and beachfront. Enveloped by a lagoon and coral reefs home to manta rays, turtles and other fascinating sea life – ideal for marine enthusiasts hoping to explore the seas while on vacation.
