With its iconic Palm Jumeirah address and distinct British character, Dukes Dubai Hotel is a clear winner for a sun-drenched stay in the city

If your idea of holiday bliss is dividing your time between your sun lounger and a chilled swimming pool, with plenty of high-energy watersports adding an element of adventure, look no further than Dukes Dubai Hotel. This elegant property provides a fabulous way to experience the best of British hospitality in the UAE, having carved a niche for itself with its sophisticated ambience, impressive collection of restaurants and top-notch leisure facilities (one is especially sure to approve of the lazy river).

Guests can choose to stay in a luxurious room or a tastefully furnished hotel apartment – each of which offer spectacular views of the Arabian Gulf framed by the Dubai Marina skyline. For those who favour a home-from-home feel, we recommend the Sky Collection of studio and one-bedroom apartments. Located high-up on the 16th and 17th floors, these plush abodes are ideal for longer stays. Sky Studios (for up to two people) have a stylish kitchenette while the Sky One Bedroom Apartments (for two adults and two children) also have a separate lounge and dining area. Plus, staying in the apartments comes with a host of added extras, such as daily breakfast in the executive lounge.

Make the most of the private beach access and soak up the winter sun before floating along the lazy river and taking a dip in the infinity pool. Dukesy Kids Club, for ages 5 to 12, has plenty to offer little holidaymakers with a focus on edutainment (the cooking classes are very popular) along with a special menu full of healthy and nutritious food. And while they’re being taken care of, you can exercise some self-care by catching a yoga class by the indoor pool.

Reunite for dinner at GBR, which is a firm favourite for its classics with a twist, from hearty roasts with all the trimmings to dark chocolate fondant. Award-winning steakhouse West 14th is the place to go for cuts of prime beef, although its seafood platters may just win you over. Alternatively, you can taste a rich, North Indian palette of flavours at Khyber – try the signature slow cooked leg of lamb infused with spices followed by the Milky Way dessert (saffron pearls on a bed of tempered condensed milk). And with dishes like that it’s easy to understand why the flagship restaurant in Mumbai has welcomed the likes of Sir Paul McCartney, Richard Gere and Demi Moore.

Teaming sun, sand and sea with family-friendly fun and fine food, Dukes Dubai Hotel is your five-star invitation to the emirate.
