Adopt the Italian way of life and indulge in a weekend of fine fare at Palazzo Versace Dubai

If your inner foodie inspires your wanderlust, you don’t have to travel far to satisfy your taste buds, as Palazzo Versace Dubai is emerging as a top destination for gourmands.

The hotel has an impressive collection of dining experiences to enjoy, with eight restaurants and bars each featuring an al fresco terrace reminiscent of the internal courtyards of centuries-old Italian palaces which, historically, were a casual place to meet, dine and soak up the fair weather. Read on for our guide to planning the perfect foodie escape…

Excuse yourself from work early on Thursday afternoon in order to arrive in time for the pre-show dinner from 7:30pm at Enigma. Inspired by his Iranian roots, two-Michelin-star chef Mansour Memarian has created a selection of authentic Persian cuisine with a twist, so you can sit back and enjoy a three-course meal followed by a live performance by violinist Aris Castro from Cuba.

Night owls can head on to Q’s Bar and Lounge to see Rogelio Douglas, Jr., who has flown in from his usual jazz bar residency in Los Angeles to entertain guests for two months (until 1 Dec, 2018) at this New York style bar by Quincy Jones.

For foodies, Fridays in Dubai can only mean one thing: brunch. But first, squeeze in a shopping trip by taking the complimentary shuttle service to The Dubai Mall (the earliest departs at 10.20am) and treat yourself to a chic, brunch-worthy ensemble.

Make your way back by 1pm when the Giardino Friday Brunch begins, inviting you to taste a range of cuisines, from Italian to Arabic and Indian, alongside an impressive selection of seafood and international dishes. Highlights include the tuna tartare, short ribs, snow crab, lobster, scallops and sushi, with the homemade pasta also a firm favourite.

You can spend the rest of the day relaxing at the East Pool, while being entertained by the Claudia Patrice duo band. Ifyou’ve no space left for dinner, opt for the MosaicoAfternoon Tea instead. Taking place every Friday from 5-8pm, you can sip the finest brews while snacking on finger sandwiches, salads and sweet treats such as chocolate chip scones – the perfect end to a decadent day of dining.

Upon waking, head to the spa where you can indulge in the 90-minute Gold and Caviar facial to rejuvenate the complexion. And even though it may be time to check out, you can leave your luggage at reception and reserve a poolside cabana at the Amalfi Saturday BBQ. Enjoy rustic style dishes such as lobster, prawns or lamb chops from the grill followed by a scoop of ice-cream while DJ Niro takes to the decks.

With Dubai International Airport just a 15-minute drive away, you can leave it to the very last moment to call time on your weekend of gastronomic delights.

Palazzo Versace Dubai’s #FollowTheSun Daycation deal includes breakfast at the East pool, followed by a light lunch at the Central Pool, finishing with a sundowner session by the West pool.Dhs300 per person, from 7am to 9pm.
