From the sweet scent of frangipani to the exotic taste of Creole cuisine and dazzling topaz waters at every turn, Constance Ephelia invites you on a revitalising sensory journey

Famous for its harmonious way of life, stunning scenery and rich culture, the Seychelles is a coveted destination for a relaxing escape – and the family-friendly Constance Ephelia more than delivers.

Set across two of the most beautiful beaches on Mahé, just a 40-minute drive from the airport, the resort overlooks the marine national park of Port Launay and its spacious suites and villas have been cleverly designed to make the most of the view. Whether you prefer lush green garden scenes or a glimpse of the Indian Ocean, you’re sure to find a fitting home from home. For those with kids in tow, the Family Villa is a top choice, featuring a private swimming pool set within a tropical garden for splash time on demand.

The dining experiences each have a pinch of local flavor, thanks to Chef Nicholas Heaviside. Signature restaurant Cyann is the place to go for a casual lunch against a backdrop of dreamy views, or an elegant dinner that teams French culinary techniques with Asian influences. To taste the bold flavours of South East Asian cuisine, head over to Adam & Eve restaurant, or if Mediterranean food is more your preference, Helios is bound to impress with whole fish baked in cast iron dishes. There’s no less than six, laid-back bars offering a place to unwind and enjoy the evening breeze with a drink in hand.

The Indian Ocean will lure you in to discover a vibrant underwater world. Grey reef sharks, octopus, batfish and eagle rays lurk in close proximity, and visibility is excellent 20-30 metres down. Just five miles away is Trois Bank, a popular diving site among experienced, open water divers. If you’re a novice, however, fear not, as the resort’s dive school offers beginners’ courses, as well as guided wreck and night dives. And there are plenty more activities to try besides, such as snorkelling, windsurfing and kayaking.

Dial down the pace at the spa village – the largest in the Indian Ocean – at the heart of the tranquil tropical gardens. The expert team will keep track of your wellness goals for the duration of your stay, and tailor a treatment programme to suit. Be sure to try the signature massage, which draws upon local ingredients and oils to soothe body and mind. And if you feel the need to stretch it out, yoga lessons are available upon request.

There’s plenty to keep the little ones entertained, too. Rent bicycles and explore the resort, tackle the climbing wall and zip line (for ages three and over) or sign them up for Constance Kids Club, where scavenger hunts, crafting and pizza making are among the fun activities on offer for ages four to 11.

With a casual approach to luxury, a beautiful setting and activities for all ages, it’s the ideal topical escape.
