The San Domenico Palace is debuting under the Four Seasons Hotel flag from this year

Located in Taormina, Sicily, the iconic San Domenico Palace welcomes back visitors as a Four Seasons Hotel this season in southern Italy.

The hotel is a 14th-century palace that overlooks the Ionian sea with views of Mount Etna and the ancient Greek theatre. Expanded in 1896 to become a hotel, San Domenica has welcomed illustrious guests – from Oscar Wilde and King Edward VIII to Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn and Sophia Loren.

The hotel has 111 spacious guest rooms and suites, each designed with modern contemporary decor. All principal rooms open to a large terrace and pool with direct views of Mount Etna, the ancient Greek theatre, and the Ionian sea. Nineteen of the rooms have private plunge pools overseeing the Italian landscape.
